I am honored and excited to join the Nazareth community as the College’s 10th president! My family and I are thrilled to embrace Nazareth and Greater Rochester as our new home and are excited to get to know you and experience all that makes Nazareth a special place.
For many years, I have been inspired by what you are doing at Nazareth College. Through collegial conversations with President Braveman and others, I have admired and learned from Nazareth’s continual evolution. Nazareth is a dynamic mission-driven learning community – a community that cares so much about its mission and students that it persistently and carefully reaches, strengthens and progresses.
My long-held esteem for Nazareth has made it a special pleasure to learn more over the last several months. I found so much that resonates with my values and commitments and that the College community can be proud of:
We live in a revolutionary time – a time that holds great risk and promise. What will we make of it? Our changing world needs Nazareth College – a learning community that continually attracts, inspires, educates, and emboldens individuals who are driven to make a positive difference in our world. Our students bring promise – let’s release it to the world!
Thank you for the care, thought and commitment you invested in the presidential search. I was moved by the many students, faculty, staff, alumni and trustees who engaged actively in the process. I love good questions – questions that reveal a new perspective or stimulate new thoughts – questions that are curious, courageous and from the heart. I am grateful for the many wonderful questions I received during my visit. You gave me insight into the cares and concerns of the Nazareth community. And your questions have inspired me – a learner at heart – to begin exploring how we can work together to discover the right answers for Nazareth. I look forward to continuing our conversations.
I am humbled to follow the strong leadership and legacy of President Braveman. I hold him in very high regard, and will work closely with him over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. I am eager to begin thinking together about Nazareth’s future. In the meantime, I will proudly wear my purple and gold. And I will share – far and wide – the College’s wonderful past, present and future.
With gratitude,
Beth Paul
