As we kick off Graduate Student Appreciation Week, I am reflecting on how vital our graduate students are to our community, bringing a wide range of backgrounds and contributing new perspectives, life experiences, and passions for their life’s work. Graduate programs have been part of Nazareth College since the 1950s. Today, our 650 graduate students are an important part of our Nazareth community, making up about one-quarter of our student body.
Our master’s and doctoral students bring such care and expertise to important work in society. We are proud to offer a rich array of graduate programs and specializations.
Many of our students pursuing master’s or doctoral degrees are invested in addressing community needs and supporting people’s growth — an essential part of our Nazareth identity — in education, art therapy, music therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, social work, music performance and pedagogy, and higher education student affairs administration (HESAA).
Our American studies program students’ focus on understanding who we are as a country is so important at this crossroads of our nation.
Our master’s students in all of our business and leadership programs bring such an important ethical lens to the work of moving businesses and nonprofits forward — and now we also welcome professionals seeking three-course advanced certificates in people analytics and leadership specialty areas.
And those who work as grad assistants contribute to the work of many campus offices and programs.
I extend my heartfelt respect and appreciation to our graduate students. You exemplify Nazareth’s mission and values as you continue learning to amplify your life’s work. And deep thanks to our graduate faculty and staff for the excellence and commitment you invest in making our graduate programs so strong and supporting our graduate students’ purpose-driven education.
Graduate students, you inspire us!
